Job Specific Responsibilities:

Comply with the established policies and procedures requiring a safe, clean and therapeutic environment.
Practice universal precautions and environmental safety guidelines.
Recognize and respond to priorities in patient care responsibilities.
Supervise and assist patients in all patient areas.
Check patients for contraband and manage the patient's valuables and belongings.
Report potential crisis situations to the therapist in charge of that patient and responds in an appropriate fashion.
Ensure patient safety through continuous supervision of patient.
Establish and maintain a professional therapeutic relationship with patients.
Teach the patient proper hygiene and ensure adherence to hygiene methods.
Carry out structured, planned, teaching activities identified in the treatment plan under the supervision of the therapist.
Model and teach appropriate social skills.
Re-enforce the importance of medication compliance, and monitor activity of compliance.
Orient patients to their unit and program, providing continuous guidance as needed. Encourage attendance daily of all patients.

Position Details:

Mental Health Technician to ensure patient safety and support treatment progress. Working hours include Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. 



Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Some college, a plus.

Experieince: Working with at-risk youth, preferably in a group setting. Experience in psychiatric facilities, a plus. 

License: Valid State Driver's License. A motor vehicle report will be conducted due to the potential of driving patients as needed. 

Trainings: CPI AND CPR training
